FedSpends.com is an independent public transparency tool that makes US federal spending data beautiful and searchable. The official government interface (USASpending.gov) is clunky and built for procurement professionals — this is the modern alternative for everyone else.
Who is this for?
- Taxpayers curious where their money goes
- Journalists investigating government spending
- Job seekers researching whether a company is a government contractor
- Small businesses doing competitive research
- Local communities seeing what federal money flows into their area
Data Source
All data is sourced from USASpending.gov via their public API. This data is mandated to be public under the DATA Act of 2014. FedSpends is not affiliated with the US government.
How often is data updated?
The pipeline runs nightly. Awards typically appear 1–2 business days after they are submitted to FPDS (Federal Procurement Data System).
Disclaimer
Award amounts shown may differ from final obligated amounts. Some awards are modified after initial award. Always verify with the official USASpending.gov record for authoritative data.
